Superior's Software Spectacular Starts Soon
Repton and Galaforce Will Lead the Way |
||||
Progress has continued apace on the new Superior Interactive software titles, and several games are now in the later stages of development. Attention to detail and fine-tuning are very important for all major software projects – it is sometimes extremely tempting to rush the finishing touches, but I expect we have all used (or at least heard about) software that is error-prone and disappointing simply due to a lack of attention in the final phases of the development process. I know that many of you are eagerly awaiting Superior's new PC software titles … and we are nearly there now! In fact I envisage that the next issue of the newsletter will be announcing the publication of the first game to roll out, which is scheduled to be Repton 1. This will be followed by Repton 2, Repton 3, and Galaforce Worlds, which may be brought forward in the schedule as it is almost ready – and looking very good! The first screenshot and details of the game are included in this newsletter. |

The Repton games have brought us some very kind compliments from you. There are some sparkling customer comments at our web site, including this glowing recommendation from Kevin Smith: "Repton must be the best game ever on any platform."
It is an interesting challenge – sometimes tricky, but always achievable using skill and determination. It appeals across the board to men and women, boys and girls. I know some people who enjoy Repton even though they do not usually play computer games. It is like an animated puzzle, which stimulates thought processes, rapid decision-making and lateral thinking. Most important of all, it is great fun! … PC Repton 1 will be available soon! Introducing Galaforce Worlds, a challenging space game packed with impressive features and thrilling edge-of-your-seat action: The screenshots in the newsletter show current views of Repton 1 and Galaforce Worlds, and the graphics are subject to possible changes at this stage. We have lots more software products in the development pipeline – including a game called Pipeline, and the current list of software projects also features these games: Codename Droid, Ravenskull, Gilbert & Sullivan, and Munitalp. Teamwork is an important key to success in software, and Superior Interactive will be happy to team up with suitable partners from time to time when the relationship offers mutual benefits. As well as our close relationship with Masabi, we are now also linking up with Addictive 247. They are enterprising software developers, and we are planning to bring you newly-revised versions of some of their games later this year. In the meantime, they have an interesting free newsletter including a discount offer, which is available by clicking on this link to the Addictive 247 newsletter e-mail box. We would be pleased to hear from other companies that would be interested in working with Superior Interactive. Please e-mail me, Richard Hanson, if you would like discuss possible ways in which we might work together. My e-mail address is: richard@superiorinteractive.com In the next issue of this newsletter, I expect to bring you news of the publication of Repton 1. As mentioned at the Superior Interactive web site, everyone who registers their interest in advance for the Repton games will be entitled to a 10% discount on each of the Repton 1, Repton 2 and Repton 3 PC games, and we will also include a FREE copy of the The Making of PC Repton as soon as it becomes available. This is a special limited offer to say "thank you" to everyone who registers early; please mention this to any of your family and friends who may be interested, so that they don't miss out! As well as behind-the-scenes interviews and background information, The Making of PC Repton will also feature new bonus levels for all three of the Repton games. Best wishes … until the next time, Richard Hanson, Superior Interactive |
