The final stage of pre-release testing is under way, and Repton 2 is on target for release on Friday afternoon.
We will email a newsletter to you as soon as Repton 2 is available, and we are planning a special introductory discount price! More details on Friday.
We have received several emails from Repton fans enquiring about the save-game facilities of the PC version of Repton 2. It is important to set the right balance of difficulty in our computer games, and we decided that Repton 2 needed to include a save-game capability at specific locations called savepoints: for example, there are three savepoints in the Message scenario. This linked screenshot (from the Caverns Scenario, Level 1) shows a savepoint near the bottom-left of the screen.
We are releasing a free Repton Screen Saver today, which you can download now from this Repton Screen Saver link.
It's fascinating to watch Repton attempt levels on his own without any guidance from you. The levels are generated by the screen saver program, and include eggs, monsters, spirits, skulls and transporters.
Setting up the Repton Screen Saver is easy: simply access the Control Panel / Display / Screen Saver properties on your PC, then select Repton Screen Saver from the drop-down list box. If you click the Settings button, you can set the screen saver options: alternative graphics, monsters, and spirits. You can click the Preview button to see a preview of the screen saver in action.
Next newsletter on Friday ... as the excitement mounts for Repton 2!
Best wishes,
